So, today was just lovely.
Workload was light, and I left at a very reasonable hour. I decided to go out to dinner, since it was early yet, and walked over to Gloucester Green (that's pronounced "Glost-ah" which rhymes with "Foster" when "Foster" is spoken with a British accent. Note that it is NOT pronounced "Glou-chester", which I discovered much to the continuing amusement of my co-worker). I have not yet eaten at any of the restaurants on the Green, so there's a whole group of places to try, and I randomly picked the first one - The Old School House. Excellent. The few reviews I've found of it online don't speak of it highly, but I will - the prices were reasonable, the atmosphere quite nice, the music didn't make me want to kill things (I was actually enjoying it - old school R&B is the closest description I can think of), and the food..... mmmmm. In almost all the places I've eaten so far, the meat has been questionable at best. I had chili at TOSH, and it came with fries, chips, and a salad, and was far too much food for me to finish, though I gave it a valiant effort. The chili had a touch of spice and tasted meaty instead of icky. Between the lovely atmosphere, the huge amount of very tasty food, the pint (John Smith's, this time), and the friendly waitstaff, I give it 2 thumbs up.

It's just a shame I can't go there again, what with aiming to not eat at the same place twice :)
