In a great mood, for the moment. I'm a little hungover BUT I don't feel bad about it at all. It's been a wonderful weekend!
Friday night, volunteer at STAF, love love love kitties as The Beau was along to do the dirty work (he has migrated towards cleaning the litter boxes. I change water and top off food and vacuum 1/2 the time. Lucky me!). He picked up Skyline for me on the way home, we watched some episodes of Dr. House, and then delightful needed sleep.
Saturday morning, The Beau was up early and off to class, and I slept till ten. It felt delightful! Of course I also discovered - as you can see in my note to Cassie - which cat was peeing on things. I learned also that yesterday when I caught her, that was NOT the first time she'd peed in the laundry. SIGH. So I did 2 loads of laundry, closed the cats out of my office and bedroom, ordered some Feliway spray, and changed the litter box.
Saturday afternoon, The Beau returned from school, and we went for a run. I finally ran a mile. More than a mile! In the heat and humidity and I was probably a little dehydrated but I DID IT! :)
Saturday evening, we headed off to the Cincinnati Celtic Festival. We both blew so much money, but I had a great time. The Beau bought me a beautiful castpaper Faerie (see here for the fellow's site) and I bought him a Celtic oak tree pendant (see here for the jewelry site). We wandered around, looked at neat things, drank beer, and then at 9:30, Seven Nations played. AWESOME AWESOME show. They have a new violinist, Victor Gagnon, who is freaking genius. I loved Dan Stacey, but this Victor fellow is simply amazing. They played my 3 most favoritest songs, The Beau made friendly with the bass player, and we headed out after they packed up. I just had the biggest grin on my face while they were playing. :)
Saturday late evening, we headed to The Beau's best friends' sister's place, wherein I proceeded to drink too much wine, and talk to said sister about Lasik. She'd just gotten it 2 days ago and is going through the absolute euphoria of being able to see after 15 years of glasses and contacts. It was such a joy to listen to, as it reminded me of my own euphoria when I had the procedure :) Lots of drinking and laughing, and 2 giant dogs, and a litter of newborn kittens, and then home at 3. To pass blissfully out.
Today, The Beau and I are headed off to do double duty at STAF. Sunday evening shift was short-staffed - severely so - ... that's way too many s's in one sentence... anyway, we're going to help out. Afterwards we are getting Indian food and watching movies and I just can't think of a better way to end the weekend.
Yay. :)
