I finally went for a change... I've been dyeing my hair red for years and years now, with home kits. So yesterday I went to a Real Hairdresser (HOORAH for gay men!), and paid a lot of money for a Real Haircut and a good dye job. All my hair is a dark brown now with bright dark red streaks. Ian says it is teh gawf, but I like it... it's different, and pretty, and professionally done :)

How funny... I'm doing exactly that to my hair tomorrow at 3 pm (and I'm so nervous)! But mine will also have some blonde streaks too.

The ones where my hair looks darker are accurate - the ones where it's lighter is 'cause I didn't use a flash, and the overhead lighting makes it look light.

I actually wanted to do tri-color streaking, with a light brown, dark brown, and red, but changed my mind. I think that would look pretty neat :)

And don't be nervous! It'll look hottie-hot on you, just like everything else in the world does ;)

The streaks I'm getting will be black, blonde, and red admist brown locks. But in a subtle non-vampiric way. ;) Thank you! If mine turns out half as cool as yours, I'll be happy.

Not problem, you have teh coolest hair!

I'll take pics manana. God, I'm so nervous. I can't remember the last time I got my hair professionally colored. And I'm a little sad to let go of the hair I have now... but oh well. Change is good. :)

That looks sexysexy! I need a haircut really, really badly, and some professional color would be lovely, too. I do the out-of-the-box red all the time, too. (It's actually auburn, and looks more brownish, but you know what I mean.) I figure I'll wait until I do something fucked up with my hair for Halloween, and then get something that looks really nice afterwards.

Gay men hairstylists are the BEST. I need to find a good one around here. (Lacey, your hair will be beautiful and you know it!)

Thank you :) out-of-the-box red works quite well (Feria has alway been my fave), but I'll tell ya, having a lovely gay man do a professional job is pretty nice! It's been so long since I've actually gone to an actual hairdresser I forgot what it was like!

(of course, the other perk with lovely gay men is the hilarious stories they tell you about their lives while they're doing your hair!)
