May. 27th, 2007 08:17 amWell, this is my first monthly cycle being off the pill... OH BOY CRAMPS is all I have to say about it. I think my cycle will be a pretty easy 4 week schedule - my body is usually pretty reliable except under times of stress - but not thrilled about the twanging in my uterus this morning. Oh well. I still feel better knowing I'm not pumping hormones in my system right now.
I am having the desire to trade in my car (2000 silver Ford Focus Sedan) for a brand new maroon Ford Focus 3 door Manual. The thing is, I know exactly what I want, which I know is a bad way to walk into a showroom. What advice might any of you strong-arm/car people have for me?

Date: 2007-05-29 03:01 pm (UTC)We made an offer, they countered, and we accepted. I'd suggest countering their offer just to see what happens :)
We offered like $100 over invoice and ended up paying $500 over (or something).

Date: 2007-05-29 05:30 pm (UTC)First. Before you talk to a dealer stop back over here next weekend or sometime. Brad, our next door neighbor who stopped in at the cookout, is a dealer rep for Ford. Talk to him about buying, he will give you good pointers and might be able to hook you up with some buddy of his. He is very willing to help poeple out with cars and is partial to beer and pretty girls.
Second. You could try this right away since there is little consequence in emailing dealers then talk to Brad about wether its the best deal you could get. I have yet to try this tactic but it sounds good, especially with Ford who is desperate for sales. It also is easy to back out of if it doesn't work out. I will try to find you the actual article but here's the gist. You go to the ford website and built your perfect car. Fill out the contact info so that dealers can get back to you. When they respond find out what they are offering and say you will contact them when you have reviewed other offers. No matter what anyone else offers reply that a different dealer has a better offer. If they reply and ask what the other dealer offered, just say that you don't want to get in the middle of a bidding war but if they can make you a better deal you would be happy to do business with them. As a female I like the sound of this tactic since it takes the pressure off for a quick decision and they don't get the idea that you're just a girl so they can try to screw you. I might set up a gender neutral yahoo acount and sign all my emails A. Knoff.
