miz_anneliese... of the day. Low melodrama here, boys and girls.
I'm drinking hot chocolate, staring at my sweet sweet LCD monitor, basking in the fact that almost all my xmas shopping is done.
Of course, it's not real hot chocolate, since I'm on a low-cal diet and my boy is on Atkins, so it's made with 2% milk and Splenda. But, y'know, it'll do in a pinch. And it's still warm and chocolatey and makes me forget that my muscles hurt from weightlifting.
Does anybody else do Zen shopping? It's rare that I go to a mall to do holiday shopping with any sort of clue in my head about what I want to buy for people. So I gather my zen-like peace before I enter the Hell That Is A Mall At Xmas Time, meander in, and walk by every store in the place until I've bought something for just about everyone on my list. It's actually been at least 3 years since I've done this, what with one thing and another, and it felt really really good to just wander around and buy random things for people I care about. This is also the first year in a long time where I've had the money to actually splurge. I got lucky, finally. I've had the same job for almost 3 years and I'm finally making enough to not have to worry all the time about how much I'm spending... It's one of the loveliest feelings in the world. :)
